For numerous years the fight seems to continue between the FDA, FTC and small parts of the weight loss industry. We do not even look for them, and yet we can quickly find promotions that make bold promises about fat loss in the quickest amount of time. There are extravagant claims made by companies offering pills, patches and other things that burn up the fat almost overnight. One essential item worthy of note is many ingredients and products haven’t been given any form of stamp of approval for usage. Furthermore, the FTC has their hands full with their goal to stop many kinds of false and inaccurate claims made by several of these companies. What you really should take into account is that so many herbal and natural ingredients have not been verified totally safe or totally effective for the claims being made.
We are inclined to feel that it is people who are the unhealthiest and susceptible to buy these products so they can do something about their excess weight. It is not out of the question for people to think something is proven to be safe just because it is on the shelf. Then you have to take into account that so many products are on the market with no assessment behind them. There are quite a few herbal ingredients that could bring about serious medical difficulties, as well as contributing to death. Ephedra is now banned for use in the US, and that is just one single high profile example of which we talk. But that is just one, and there are others that are of a similar potential risk.
It is possible to still come across Phenylpropanolamine HC (hydrochloride) being marketed online. This used to be a very typical ingredient in slimming capsules and cold medications about ten years ago. The usual practice is to promote these kinds of ingredients under trade names of different kinds. Phenylpropanolamine was discovered to perhaps cause a whole host of very serious medical problems such as sudden death. What we find most incredible is that this is still offered for purchase with a basic search in the largest search engine in the world. The sad part about it is not everyone is aware of the risks involved with something like this, and they can still purchase it, today.
In contrast we do feel that each of us has a responsibility for our own healthiness and well being. So we feel it is an important situation when some things are still conveniently available even so many years after they are recognized to be dangerous. Yet an additional point is that people usually want an easy solution, and we all know that there actually is no easy solution when it comes to dropping pounds. It is not impossible to lose weight, and it does call for a dedicated attempt. All it takes is selecting healthy foods in practical amounts and just getting some activity in a few days a week.
