Induction phase lasts for two weeks, but depending on how much weight that you have, the induction phase can be extended longer than two weeks. You should notice that during induction phase, you might experience dizziness and fainting. So take any pre-caution steps before you conducted the induction phase.

At phase two, you are allowed to increase the daily carbohydrate intake up to 5 g and stay at that level for two weeks before you can increase again. The carbohydrates are increased until you reach the point where you are losing one pound per week. Phase two will continue until you reach 10lbs from your goal.

At phase three, once again you increase the daily intake of carbohydrate up to 10 g until your goal weight is achieved.

At phase four, you already have good knowledge, how much carbohydrate that your body can take before gaining or losing weight. Once you reach the weight that you want, you can maintain that weight for a lifetime. Just eat the maximum amount of carbohydrates that you body can take before start gaining weight again. If you want to lose weight, you just need to cut back your daily carbohydrates intake again.

If you conduct Atkins diet, you should add sufficient nutrient in forms of multivitamins to supply your daily needs. Make sure you follow all the diet guidelines strictly, or else you will risk damaging yourself. One thing for sure, if you follow atkins diet meals plan correctly you will start losing weight.
